Technical sales is what differentiates C&T and we have the best technical sales personnel in the industry who are available to assist our customers to improve their production processes and help solve die cutting problems.
We are delighted that Steve has joined the C&T family and wish him well during this exciting period of growth at C&T.

BLP has saved significant time and money since switching creasing matrix to PINK® Matrix from C&T Matrix.
Based in Tyneside, BLP offers its customers a wide range of print and mail services, with in-house design and data preparation through to advanced, high speed printing and integrated mail as well as warehousing and distribution.
The nature of BLP’s business means that it runs a lot of small to medium-sized print jobs.
Prior to introducing PINK® matrix, they found ‘make ready’ time was often longer than the print run time. The hard compound of the matrix they were using was extremely difficult to chamfer. Ian Lansdell, Logistics Team Leader for BLP, was keen to find a matrix that would help improve efficiency and so he approached C&T Matrix.
Lansdell explained: “From day one, Howard [Mead, Technical Sales Manager UK and Europe for C&T Channel Matrix] has listened to our issues and understood that we needed a matrix that would cut our make ready times. Howard recommended PINK® and we have not been disappointed. It is far easier to chamfer and has not only saved us time on make ready, it is also almost half the price of the matrix from our previous supplier.”
The key component of PINK® is ROSADIUM® which gives unrivalled durability and offers an alternative to counter plates. PINK® also has extra strong tape, giving better registration; locators to improve alignment of the creasing rule, and a sharp chamfer which improves the flow over the matrix. PINK® is easy to cut during make ready and is resilient to delamination.
As well as seeing significant improvements in time and cost savings, Lansdell is pleased with the support from C&T Matrix, commenting: “The service we have had from C&T Matrix has been first class”.
Leading supplier of specialist creasing matrix products and accessories to the print and packaging industries, C&T Channel Matrix (C&T), has developed a range specifically aimed at UK die makers. In October 2016, C&T Channel made a strategic decision to part-company with its UK distributor, Partwell, allowing C&T to sell its newly extended and targeted range directly to UK die makers, printers and box makers.
Simon Shenton, Managing Director for C&T Channel Matrix explains: “The new portfolio of products will provide huge benefits to customers in terms of direct sales contact here in the UK, backed up by our own highly skilled technical support. In the past our product offering has been limited to profile rubbers but we are now pleased to be able to offer a full one stop shop concept to our customer, enabling them to source products from one supplier.”
The range developments have brought together one of the most extensive ranges of rubber profiles, fully supported by a comprehensive range of steel rule and accessories.
The steel rule range is manufactured by the German supplier GNU, renowned for its superior quality and features cutting rule, creasing rule, rotary rule and many other speciality products. This is supported by a full portfolio of plastic parts such as carrot bolts, centre line blocks and edge protectors as well as a range of other accessories such as nicking chisels, glue and mallets. Furthermore C&T Channel is now proud to offer 1mm steel plates in over 20 different sizes, available immediately for 24 hour delivery.
Finally, the market leading rubber profiles such as SPRINTRUBBA and FLEXICREASE are now joined by a full range of Vulcolan, Open/Closed Cell and a special range called Crystal Face, most suited to corrugated conversion.
Simon concludes, “C&T Channel remain fully dedicated to bringing cutting-edge products to the market – die makers need the reassurance of dealing with one supplier who can provide a package of complementary products to ensure maximum efficiency inb conversion”.
Plastics Capital, the niche plastics producer, today announced an investment made through its subsidiary C&T Matrix Ltd (C&T) in Logics-Mito based in Fara d’Adda, Italy.
C&T is the world leader in the manufacture of plastics creasing matrix and has manufacturing operations in the UK, China and the US. C&T has a truly global reach and exports through more than 130 distributors in 70 countries around the world. One of the company’s key strategies is to become closer to its end customers through cooperation and investment with key distributors as well as the provision of high levels of technical service.
Logics-Mito was founded in 1993 and has grown to be the undisputed market leader in the distribution of die and box making consumables in Italy. Not only does Logics-Mito enjoy country wide distribution to over 2000 customers, it also enjoys exclusive arrangements with key industry suppliers such as Dicart, Clear, GNU, Perivo and C&T Matrix. More recently, Logics-Mito has itself made a significant investment in creasing matrix manufacture and now produces PVC and vulcanised fibre creasing matrix under the brand MITO.
The investment by the Plastics Capital group company will bring significant benefits to both C&T and Logics-Mito. C&T benefits from having Logics-Mito as its long term exclusive distribution partner for the Italian market as well as access to very skilled personnel to strengthen its technical team; whilst Logics-Mito will benefit from C&T’s global manufacturing experience, extended product range and financial support.
Alberto Sommariva, Technical Sales Director of Logics-Mito states: “I am extremely excited about the benefits we can bring our customers; a wider range of products stocked for next day delivery, 5 star customer service levels and an improved creasing matrix quality. Furthermore we will be able to offer even more technical service and consultancy to our end user customers thanks to the additional resources we can make use of within C&T International as well as the experience of the Group’s worldwide distribution network. Finally, the additional financial resources available within the Group will ensure that R&D remains at the forefront of our strategy as we seek to offer customers new and innovative products.”
Faisal Rahmatallah, Chairman of Plastics Capital, comments: “The Italian market for creasing matrix is one of the largest in Europe as, unlike other neighbouring countries where larger groups are more prevalent, in Italy the market is dominated by small to medium sized convertors who continue to prefer using creasing matrix rather than other technologies. Logics and C&T have enjoyed a close relationship for many years and this new partnership brings important advantages to both companies. The first class reputation, strong customer reach and technical service expertise of the Logics-Mito team combined with the market leading products and product development pipeline of C&T will ensure that our customers in Italy will have access to a world-class product offering for die cutting and creasing products.”
Simon Shenton, Managing Director of C&T Matrix says: “From our first dealings with Logics- Mito we have felt a natural affinity with the Italian team and a more formal cooperation was inevitable. The technical knowledge of the commercial team is one of the best I have experienced and this is becoming increasing important in our market – it represents a real USP for our end customers.”
Shenton concludes: “Over the past decade C&T has continued to grow its client base organically and has increased its global footprint substantially despite challenging economic conditions. With now over 130 distributors across 70 countries, we are the leading producer of creasing matrix worldwide and we have significant ambitions for future growth. This includes further investments in distribution businesses such as Logics-Mito which help improve our market penetration in key territories.”
C&T Channel Matrix, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of creasing matrix, has recently launched a range of steel cutting plates in line with its strategy to offer die makers, box makers and print finishers a complete product package.
The 1mm steel cutting plates are suitable for many different makes of autoplaten including Bobst, Heidelberg, Iberia and Asahi machines. Made in Germany, these high quality plates are cut by waterjet for the best possible finish, producing a product free from burring.
The plates are available in three different hardnesses – soft 20 Rockwell, medium 35 Rockwell and hard 48 Rockwell – and a range of sizes, all of which are held in stock and available for next day delivery within the UK.
Simon Shenton, C&T Channel Matrix, Managing Director commented; “We are really excited to introduce the steel cutting plates to our portfolio; their quality is exceptional and reflects our commitment to provide our customers with high class products all backed up with a solid supply line and competitive pricing.”
Welcome to our News and Updates covering Autumn/Winter 2016
Windles Group is the latest customer to source its creasing matrix products from C&T Channel Matrix.
Windles Group specialises in manufacturing and printing greetings cards, point of display and premium packaging materials; it has a particular expertise in cold foil printing, a process which it pioneered. In an impressive new Thame based factory, Windles houses UV litho B1 printing presses, a holographic varnish press and several finishing machines enabling in-house hot foiling, embossing, die cutting and glittering, making them a leader in innovative production.
Following a recent review, Windles has switched a large amount of its creasing matrix products to the C&T Channel range. Specifically, Windles switched to XTC Matrix as they found it preferable thanks to the flexibility of XTC’s film base. The new matrix is being successfully used in the production of cartons and greeting cards.

XTC is available in off-centre and mini to accommodate every production challenge including capacity creases. Its longevity is unique in the matrix market and often outlasts other matrix on thin plates aimed at a similar price point.
Gareth Nottingham, CADCAM Manager at Windles Group is pleased that he has made the decision to adopt C&T products, “The XTC matrix from C&T Channel Matrix is competitively priced and they are very knowledgeable about their products and the production process. Importantly, we have had no issues with production since introducing the matrix, which is great news for us”.
Windles is also taking advantage of C&T’s extensive accessories range including, drawing foils and Triplex patch up paper. In addition, they are using C&T’s cutting plates in 35 Rockwell “c” hardness on their Bobst 106 Speria die cutter and are very pleased with the stability of the product.
Howard Mead, Technical Sales Manager UK and Europe for C&T Channel Matrix, is pleased to be supplying Windles Group, “Windles Group is an impressive business and we are delighted to be supplying our creasing matrix and associated accessories to them. They produce a wide range of products requiring the use of creasing matrix, such as greeting cards and retail packaging, so for us it’s a great example of the scope and flexibility that our products can provide”.
