Since its launch, just over 18 months ago, SPEEDPIN has become one of the greatest successes to be introduced by manufacturer C&T Channel Matrix (C&T), the world’s leading producer of creasing matrix and associated products.
The patented, revolutionary SPEEDPIN is aimed at the die cutting industry and has already become a firm favourite with many folding carton and die maker companies in the UK and Ireland, including Laserline. C&T has sold in excess of 1 million in the last 12 months alone.
SPEEDPIN offers converters a reduction in pre make-ready time and improves conversion efficiencies. SPEEDPIN is fitted in the female stripping board by the die maker and completely eliminates the need for stripping frames and bottom pins, thereby saving time and increasing machine efficiency. It also means no waste is left hanging on the bottom pins, reducing the likelihood of stoppages. Doing away with the pin frame dramatically reduces make ready time as there is no need to either fit the frame into position or align bottom pins to the male stripping unit.
Pin frames and bottom pins are no longer required – reducing consumable costs.
Simon Shenton, C&T Channel Matrix, Managing Director explains; “SPEEDPIN has proved a huge success with those converters who have adopted this new pin as using it represents a significant improvement in the stripping process. They are finding that doing away with the pin frame has greatly reduced consumables costs and make-ready time as there is no need to fit the frame or align bottom pins. This is giving them a real benefit in time saving and, has also eliminated the actual cost of the pins and frames. On average customers are finding that using SPEEDPIN saves around 15 minutes per job.”
C&T has great expertise and offers strong technical support for anyone wishing to trial SPEEDPIN, which is ideal for both BOBST and Iberica equipment.

C&T Channel Matrix has launched ‘DUROPRINT MATRIX’ – a brand new concept in FIBRE BASED creasing matrix. Following a request from Mito SRL, (C&T’s Italian subsidiary), for a fibre based matrix to sell into the Italian market, C&T developed this revolutionary new product which it is now launching in the UK.
Unlike traditional pressboard products, Duroprint Matrix is manufactured using a vulcanised fibre based material which makes the matrix more durable and less likely to wear or delaminate. This gives the customer huge benefits in terms of matrix durability and stability and makes Duroprint ideal for medium to long run applications. Also, because it is fibre based, it is very easy to chamfer by hand.
Duroprint has already been an enormous success in Italy and C&T is now delighted to offer the product to the UK market.
Duroprint Matrix is available in widths of 9.4mm and 12.4 mm, with heights ranging from 0.3mm up to 1.6mm. In addition Duroprint comes in special finishes which include mini, off-centre and double crease.
Simon Shenton, Managing Director at C&T Matrix said, ““We are delighted to be able to offer Duroprint Matrix, as a uniquely durable fibre based matrix, to the UK. This latest innovation demonstrates how C&T is leading the way in terms of new products for die cutters, plate makers and the print and packaging industries. It follows on from the hugely successful 2018 UK launch of Rapido Matrix which is made up of a single piece PVC strip, out of which the channel is then routed. C&T is proud to take on a global role for packaging producers, ensuring that matrix is constantly developed.”

C&T Channel Matrix, the world’s leading manufacturer of creasing matrix and rubber profiles, has announced the launch of a new self-adhesive version for its world renowned brand of Sprintrubba.
SUPER SPRINT is a new development designed to speed up the application of profile rubber to the cutting dies. Super Sprint has all of the characteristics of the original Sprintrubba in terms of longevity and on-press performance with the added advantage of a strong self-adhesive backing. The new acrylic based adhesive tape has the benefits of finger lift application and will stick to both treated and untreated services.
The self-adhesive strip also allows the user to apply the rubber profile strip to the die without the need to use super glue. As a result, application is much more time efficient as the self-adhesive strip means no manual gluing has to be performed and also avoids any health and safety issues associated with super glue. Furthermore it prevents delamination of the dieboard when the rubber is removed.
Simon Shenton, Managing Director at C&T Channel Matrix said “We have tested the Super Sprint in key European markets with great feedback from customers. It has been tested up to two million impressions and gives excellent stability and savings in application and removal.”
Available in 7.25mm height with an 8mm base, other sizes will soon be added to the range and bespoke specifications can be manufactured at C&T’s state of the art manufacturing site in the UK. The original Sprintrubba rubber profile is used throughout the world by printers and die makers, to give cleaner cuts. The Sprintrubba range, including new Super Sprint, is 100% safe to use for food and pharmaceutical packaging. The raw material used in the manufacturing of Sprintrubba is now approved by the FDA (Food & Drug Administration).

The British Lion and the Chinese Dragon join forces and become the largest manufacturer of creasing matrix in the World!
We are delighted to announce that Channel Shengli, part of C&T International International, has moved to a new purpose built factory in Tianjin to offer outstanding service to the Asian market. We have also invested in our people, improving their skills in customer service and production management.
Very close ties exist between the production team in the U.K and China. Peter Houghton, our UK Production Director, has made regular visits to China to offer his support to the team. Peter has advised on new product developments and manufacturing methods.

C&T Matrix is pleased to announce a new strategy of managed inventory for its larger UK customers. Designed to provide an improved service to UK customers, the consignment policy has already been introduced to a several key customers over the last 6 months. It removes the need for customers to manage their own stock and instead provides them with a consignment stock from which they can take product, as and when needed.
The benefits of this new strategy are that customers do not run out of product and it also reduces working capital requirements within these companies. C&T is able to analyse trends in product usage and increase or decrease the consignment stock accordingly. Product is held at the customer’s premises and is available for immediate use, without the inconvenience of having to order from C&T.
Several key UK die makers, as well as larger box convertors, have already adopted C&T’s consignment strategy and this new policy has been a huge success for all concerned. Customers are invoiced only for what they use at the end of each month, and inventory is then topped up at the beginning of the next month.
Simon Shenton, Managing Director at C&T Matrix said “Inventory management is a big issue for many of our customers. We aim to remove the hassle of having to manage raw material stocks and also reduce the financial burden on our customers. In companies where we have implemented this new policy, we have seen a win/win for both C&T and our clients. We are very open to extending this policy to new customers within the UK and I would urge them to contact us to discuss further.”

C&T Channel Matrix has launched ‘RAPIDO’ – a brand new concept in PVC creasing matrix. Following a request from Mito SRL, (C&T’s Italian subsidiary), for a single piece PVC matrix to sell in the Italian market, C&T developed this revolutionary new product which it is now launching in the UK.
Unlike traditional plastic matrix, where the matrix is formed from two separate shoulders, Rapido is made up of a single piece PVC strip out of which the channel is then routed. This single strip design gives the customer huge benefits in terms of product durability and stability as it is impossible for the shoulders to delaminate or split from the base.
Rapido has already been a huge success in the Italian market and C&T is now delighted to offer the product to the UK market as a new innovation in creasing matrix.
Other unique features include a rounded chamfer on both shoulders which assist the flow of the board over the matrix as well as an extra flexible locator, allowing easy removal. Rapido is available in many different sizes with heights ranging from 0.3mm up to 1.4mm. In addition, as well as centred matrix, the Rapido range is also available in special sizes such as mini, off centre and double crease.
Simon Shenton, Managing Director at C&T Matrix said, “Following on from the successful launch in Italy we are delighted to be able to offer Rapido, as a uniquely durable matrix, to the UK market. This latest innovation demonstrates how C&T is leading the way in terms of new products and outstanding service for die cutters, plate makers and the print and packaging industries. We continue to play a global role in ensuring that the evolving needs of the packaging producers are taken into account when it comes to the very latest developments.
