Plastic Pallets Prove to Be a Game Changer for Smurfit WestRock in Limerick
C&T Matrix launched its range of BRC-accredited plastic pallets in 2023. Designed to meet the specific demands of the packaging industry, they have proved to be a huge success.
The pallets are designed specifically for use in non-stop logistics systems for print and die cutting. The continuous feed increases the number of sheets that can be converted in a given time. During a 24-hour shift, for example, use of these pallets can result in an increase of up to 15% in the number of sheets converted.
Unlike traditional wooden pallets, which can splinter, plastic pallets prevent carton contamination during production. They are also robust and easy to clean. Customers can choose from a variety of sizes to suit their production format and machine dimensions.
Smurfit Westrock in Limerick has been using plastic pallets from C&T Matrix for over 18 months. They have been so pleased with their use that they have now stopped use of wooden pallets on the production floor altogether.
Cut & Crease Manager from Smurfit Westrock, Paul McCormack, has this to say about C&T Matrix’s plastic pallets, “They have been a game changer for cutting and creasing as they allow continuous feed with the bigger jobs. The guys in finishing also prefer them as they are a lot more stable with zero chance of wood splinters nicking their hands at the end of the pallets or damaging cartons.”
C&T Global Sales Director, Howard Mead, comments, “Creating long-term partnerships with our clients is important to us as it helps us to better understand their needs. We use our knowledge to help them maximise their production capabilities and exploit every advantage with high-quality products, expert advice, and technical support. We are proud to be part of Smurfit Westrock’s success story”
